Craving a taste of the Middle East? Immerse yourself in the vibrant aisles of the Middle East Food Market! This gem has everything from fresh spices to melt-in-your-mouth cheese & spinach pastries, plus perfect za'atar flatbreads (Manqeesh). Don't miss their fine kunafa, pure gooey cheese heaven covered with crispy kataifi perfection and soaked in a sweet, sugar-based syrup, garnished with a sprinkle of pistachios. They have three sizes, the medium size I ordered is $50, trust me – it's worth every bite! Beyond food, find unique treasures like Nabulsi soap made from olive oil (Palestinian traditional soap) & friendly staff eager to help. A must-visit for foodies & culture lovers!
The best fatayer ever in bay are i drivers 45 minutes to get fatayer so good. and the people who work there very nice.
If you think this is only a store to buy a few items you are missing in your kitchen pantry, you are way wrong. Not only do they have the usual breads, canned goods that you would find in a Middle Eastern store, but the real surprise is the freshly baked mouth watering delights they have waiting for you. The selection is great, fresh daily, irresistible.
Best place to get middle eastern products and bakery items. My go to items are Meat Pie, Cheese Pie and Baklava. Walnut Baklava is out of this world. Kunafe, is best. Have tried it at many places but this is the best one for me. Zatar and Manakesh are awesome too. You can find other items too like Pomegranate Molasses, Cheese Spread and middles eastern drinks and Hookah items. Always order a day ahead and let them know the time of pick up so they make sure items are not sold out. Highly recommend this place if you enjoy middle eastern food items and bakery.
Loved the traditional middle eastern spices, whole grains and pickles collection. I tried their baked goods, liked the baked Fatayer but Baklava was way too sweet for me (it’s flavorful though). They make everything fresh daily and also have frozen items that you can bake later at home.
This place is unbelievable! The owners are genuinely nice and they run this place with amazing integrity and uncompromising quality. The baked goods are not like mom’s quality or almost like mom’s quality. They are mom’s quality!!! They are truly baked with love. 1) The Maamool is actually made with real butter, no substitutes. You can quickly tell the difference. Shortening coats the throat for hours. 2) The Zaatar bread is actually made with olive oil! I couldn’t believe it. 3) Fatayer dough is thin and light with no hint of shortening. 4) Meat Fatayer have a generous amount of pine nuts in them! Other places just skip those all together. I am happily addicted to this place. Every time I visit it, it’s like taking a trip back in time to when people poured their souls into what they do. The following quote about working with joy by Gibran definitely applies here: “Work is love made visible. And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy. For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man’s hunger.” Note: Dear Salma Elhamy, I am sorry you had such a bad impression. I sincerely think there may be a misunderstanding. I would urge you to visit this place again and try their freshly baked goods. I may even dare bet that you’ll change your mind. As to the green stuff, could it possibly be the ground pistachio topping of the Knafeh?
This is a small middle Eastern grocery store, but they have a small bakery also. This is what sets them apart from other places that are similar in size. You will find all kinds of goodies here, from meat turnovers, spinach turnovers, sweets and even locally made olives, the owners are very friendly. If you have never been here, go on a Sunday morning and prepare to be surprised, true the place is small, but the output is amazing, enjoy.
